AlphaPlus associates hold a framework contract via their employer or as a self-employed individual and then receive an engagement schedule for each project they join us on. We undertake DBS checks on all staff and associates. As well as maintaining project contacts, we send regular newsletters to all associates and welcome updates on their new skills and experience.
We are always interested in speaking to prospective new associates in all areas of educational practice. We engage associates on a project-by-project basis, selecting each member of the project team (led by an AlphaPlus director) against the requirements of the project, using our knowledge of each associate’s expertise and experience. We strive to maintain excellent relationships with our associates, and we believe this is reflected in the quality of work which our associates repeatedly produce. Many of our associates have been working with AlphaPlus since the inception of the company.

Chair of the Board
Part-time (up to a maximum of 60 days pa)

AlphaPlus is seeking to appoint a part-time non-executive Chair of the Board. The individual we are seeking will have experience at a senior level in both education and the commercial world, ideally but not necessarily with knowledge of educational assessment.
The Chair will provide inspiration, leadership and direction to the Board in determining company strategy and monitoring the achievement of the organisation's objectives.
Eligible applicants will have:
- comprehensive experience of operating successfully in a senior strategic leadership role with a substantial track record of high achievement throughout their career, securing partnerships and business opportunities, and delivering company strategy;
- several years' experience at a senior level in the education management sector with a thorough understanding of the sector;
- experience of external representation, delivering presentations and management of a diverse range of stakeholders;
- significant experience of chairing meetings and events at a senior level;
- strong commercial and customer service awareness and experience in the sector.
They will be commercially aware, able to create opportunities and participate in activities to generate new business. The role may occasionally involve some national travel, with the possibility of international travel.

What information is requested and why
AlphaPlus also gathers information to enable the monitoring of equal opportunities in recruitment. This information is provided voluntarily and stored separately. It is anonymised upon receipt and is not seen by personnel involved in the recruitment process. We request information about whether or not you have a disability so that we are able to make reasonable adjustments for any assessment/interview. We request information about criminal convictions and offences to carry out our obligations and exercise specific rights in relation to employment legislation. We collect the following information about you in order to carry out our recruitment process:

- information about referees, including name, contact details and relationship to you

We collect these data via email communications, the application form, CV and covering statement. If your application is successful we will also collect personal data about you from your referees and from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). We will inform you when we are doing this. Information is also collected at interview and through other forms of assessment, including tests.
Storage and sharing of your data
If your application is unsuccessful or you withdraw your application, we will keep your data for 6 months after the conclusion of the recruitment process. Immediately after that point your data will be deleted. If your application is successful, the relevant personal data gathered during the recruitment process will be transferred to your personnel file and retained for the periods specified in the employee privacy notice.
You can obtain a copy of your data on request, require it to be amended, updated, deleted, or object to the processing of your data, free of any charge. You are not under any statutory or contractual obligation to provide data to us. We request information required for the effective processing of your application only and if the information is not provided, AlphaPlus may not be able to process your application. You also have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), www.ico.org.uk.
