Description: Assessment of literacy and numeracy are under the political (and funding) spotlight as perhaps never before. What are the key issues in the assessment of these subjects?
There is cross-party political support for all British people attaining baseline levels of literacy and numeracy. This includes young adults continuing their learning and development in these core subjects after the age of 16. This programme looks at the range of approaches to specifying the curriculum for these subjects, and assessing them in adult and school settings, and for a range of academic and vocational purposes.
